She came over introduced herself, I think her name was Emily. Right when my parents were about to leave, I started to cry, like always. After about 10 minutes of them trying to pry me off my mom, I gave up and they got to enjoy their night, unlike me. Sobbing, asking when my mom would come home waiting by the door, this routine went on for a long period of time. Emily came over to me and told me a story from her childhood. She got to a part where she said that when she was a kid, she went through the same fear I did, being separated from her parents. I leaned in closer to give her a hug and she asked if I was okay because I stopped crying. Realizing I was fine, I responded with a simple “yeah”. I was fine for the rest of the day. When my parents got home they were surprised. I finally got outside and was talking to my neighbors again. I remember that I was the happiest i'd ever been. Ever since then, I wasn't afraid on my parents leaving, it was good to have someone who experienced what I had experienced. My physical, social and mental health had improved all thanks to knowing that I wasn’t
