I've babysat my two 11-year-old nieces and one 6-year-old nephew since they were born, and have had experience with babysitting kids between newborn and 13 years old. I'm still a giant child in that I love playing dress up, making crafts, and playing active games - even just in my everyday life! I'm always happy to help with homework and cleanup and all the not-as-fun jobs. My passion is in singing, playing guitar and piano and other various instruments, and all other things musical. I've volunteered for many events involving kids that include children's ministry and VBS for my church, summer riding lessons, and interning at a preschool. I'm currently taking a lot of various college classes - My goal is to get my associates before I graduate

Many people claim they do not believe in urban legends, however, some urban legends have the power to make people stop and question themselves. What if these legends that are passed down from generation to generation by the word of mouth or electronically have truth to them? A few years ago, when I started to babysit, my older siblings told me about one of the most notorious urban legends, the Babysitter and the Man Upstairs. This legend is about a teenager who is babysitting, when a mystery man unexpectedly calls from inside the house. With my knowledge of this legend, I will provide a summary of the story, basic research, and an analyses of the legend.…

The Effects of Insufficient Funding of Child Protective Services How often is the reality of child protective services (CPS) revealed? Occasionally, a child abuse or neglect case will result in child fatality that draws attention from the press. The media then exploits said child abuse case and the case worker is usually blamed for the child’s outcome, no matter what their efforts were to help the child prior to his or her death. Despite a social worker’s best intentions, they are not always capable of properly caring for children in need. There’s no denying the rising issue of child abuse and domestic violence in the United States, for example, according to the Child Help Organization, “a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds” (“Child…

Last summer I began babysitting for a couple that I have never met before, which was very nerve wracking meeting them at first, thankfully I got the privilege of taking care of two sweet kids. This was a very fun summer, we went to their grandparents pool, played football in the front yard, and on rainy days I would play videogames with Jacob and do whatever crazy things Molly had come up with. Babysitting has definitely taught me many different things such as how to take care of and watch children like a hawk, how to discipline them by teaching them the right things to do, and how to be creative by finding different things to do. Watching Molly like a hawk is a necessity because she is very reckless and likes to “explore” which means climb…
