Depending on what their parents taught them in their teenage years, depended on what they did in their early adult years. Some of the people in my generation are either sticking around at home to help clean up their financial burden or they are sticking around to help their parents. Even though they have gone to school and have earned their degrees, they are coming back home to live with their parents due to the economy (Evans, pg. 198, 2015). The economic status of the United States is caused by the Baby Boomer generation. At the same time their generation owns the companies with the high inflation rates, works for the government who are racking up our federal debt, and some of them are in retirement receiving Medicare and other advantages that their generation will receive while in retirement that most will not get. They are known as the “Me Generation” for the reason of their financial decisions (Tankersley, paragraph 4 and 12, 2015). It seems as though Generation Y has the idea that going to college and getting a degree will set them up with a high paying job doing what they dreamed of doing, when in fact, in most cases they still are having to start at the bottom of the totem pole not doing what they planned on doing in the career field they chose. This can discourage many of the generation y to accept a better paying job in the field they did not go to college for. Therefore Generation Y are staying at home with their parents due to the economics, going to college and working in low paying careers and then are waiting to get married until they are more financially
