Even though it may seem like a story out of a horrific fairytale, the events of the Holocaust are very real. One of the most gruesome parts of the Holocaust was of the Babi Yar Massacre. This affected the population of Jews and outside countries. See as how Hews escaped, were treated, ignored, and forgotten during and after this took place as one of history’s worst tragedies. To begin with, Babi Yar’s representation is not surprising. Babi Yar used to be just a large and long crater in the ground that reached up to 45 feet of depth. Now a days, it is just flat land that many people walk on, day by day. It is not only a walkway, but it is a representation of what horrible past it now has to carry on with it. Underneath the surface of Babi Yar, millions of corpses lie, decomposing in the earth without their proper recognition. Before it happened, Soviet troops that were in Kiev, which is a city in Ukraine, and planted many bombs in and around the city in order to weaken the German troops. Once they went off, the aftermath was disastrous. Many people were left without homes and had to leave the city. The people who were responsible for the explosives did not get blamed, however, instead the Germans blamed the Jews. Due to the fact that they were wrongly accused, many people believed it was the Jews fault. The Jewish people, which had received commands to gather at a cemetery, followed the orders given, but were unaware of the hatred that was held against them. Many people thought that the Germans were going to relocate the Jews to another place, but were mistaken. The Jews then arrived to a place where they would meet certain death, The Babi Yar
