A True Father

Atticus Finch vs. Baba

Atticus is hosting a party dedicated to fathers, whom they stand up for what is right, as he calls it “Father’s Day.”Usually many people come to the party every year. However, the point of this party is to get his one message across, which is standing up for what is right, at least to one person that attends the party. Atticus usually questions people until they realize that they have done a mistake and they should have faced their mistakes. Atticus sees Baba standing alone, he thinks talking to Baba is the best opportunity, as Baba did tell Amir that hassan is his brother. Atticus rushes there to talk to Baba.

Atticus: Hey Baba, what are you doing here?
Baba: It is Father’s day, Who are you!?

It is more complicated than that! I gave him a good life. He lived with me, I cared for him and treated as well I could, at least when Amir is not there. I gave him a new father, Ali, who would take care of him.
Atticus: Sir, you made Ali be his father because Hassan’s mom is Ali’s wife! You did that because you were to scared if what the people say. Your pride and selfishness are superior to you own son.
Baba: Who are you to question me like that?
Atticus: With all humbleness, I stood up against the whole community to defend Tom Robinson, a black man who was convicted for something he did not do. Also, I always told my kids to treat everyone else equally. However, that is not the point of the conversation. It doesn’t matter if someone is black or white. It doesn’t matter if Hasan is half Hazara or you are scared of what the people might say about you. You should've tried to find a solution
Baba: I tried to solve the problem but I couldn’t, the consequences are too severe.
Atticus: And you said you’re a man who stands up for what is right?
Baba: I am a man who stands up for what is right! I made an orphanage. Hassan and Amir were like brothers they lived together, played together. Everyone was happy. Also, I risked my life to defend a woman from a Russian

Their father, probably the most level headed and humble person they ever met had hidden part of his past “Nevertheless, he refuses to use his background as an excuse to hold himself above others and instead is a model of tolerance and understanding” (“To Kill a Mockingbird”).…

Khaled captivating novel The Kite Runner uses the recurring themes of betrayal and redemption throughout his book. Khaled conveys the themes of redemption and betrayal by using conflict, symbolism, and characterization. The kite that has hassan catches becomes the symbol of amir's betrayal. As evidence by Yardley, Jonathan, “Amir remains loyal to Hassan until the day of the kite tournament, when he remains silent about the horror he witnesses rather than dispel his father’s praise for his glorious victory.”…

This reality throws families apart and innocent lives away as society categorizes individuals into subjective stereotypes that cast negative lights on honorable people. Harper Lee embraces this theme in her novel To Kill A Mockingbird, which is set in the 1930’s.
