BTNY is definitely one of the best program where I can put my child in. I believe my child has the potential and he is eager to learn. However, I often fear that he may lag behind as I am unable to support him financially due to our income. Sometimes, I feel he can excel in his studies even better if he got the proper guide. We try our best to give him the best guide possible, but sometimes we are not enough. I know some of my relatives’ children go to BTNY and their child improved in great ways; not only they performed well academically but overall their way of studying changed. They became more focused and independent when it comes to getting ahead in studies and this is very important to learn for children at their age. My child needs

It is not his fault because he did not get enough support that he needed. However, with time he improved a lot and the change was quite quick. He did excellent in New York city tests; his ELA and Math results were very good. I am proud of him that he improved himself with his own efforts. He was able to improve because he realized that he needs to study harder. He got very upset with his class performances and the pressure on him to get selected into TAG Young Scholars School was a lot as he saw his friends doing better than him. I always motivated him and told him to do his best. I supported him and never discouraged him. I made him understand that we often fail and what matters is that how strong we are to overcome the failure and be successful. I always encouraged him and made him believe that he has the potential to do good. I did notice that he got more confident and sincere. He started performing well in school and he started to listen to teacher’s instructions properly and focus more. Eventually, he improved himself a lot and he was able to keep up with the good …show more content…
Our income is not that great and therefore I fear sometimes that he may not get recognized even though he is a capable student. I do not want to stop him from doing what he likes and want him to have a strong foundation that prepares him well for the challenges that he will come across in the future. I hope that he gets good scholarships and as we are not much financially strong I hope nothing stops him from fulfilling his dreams. I am proud that at this young age, he has set his mind to go to an IVY league university and I just hope that he can make his dreams come true. Therefore, I just want to request wholeheartedly to consider my child’s application and give him a chance to prove

Poor Communications Case Study Educating our parents and students on learning disabilities, for many years learning disabilities were unidentified and when things aren’t identified they automatically fall into the “not normal “category. “Once a students is categorized with intellectual disability, emotional disturbance, or learning disabilities, that information will be forwarded to every new teacher in the child’s cumulative folder” (Henley & Ramsey & Algozzine, 2010). Labeling a student’s can be very awkward and uncomfortable for all parties. In order for the student to receive the affective communication skills need to take place,” identify the problem, communicate the message, decode the message and be open to engage in delouge” (Gallagher, Bagin, & Moore, 2012). My action plan to preventing students from feeling embarrassed and parents distressed about their child being labeled would be: A) Early testing and mid testing B) Parent observation / educate the parent C)…

As a child that is currently living in a family of five with two loving parents with the occupations of being teachers, funds have not necessarily been low but have been monitored with great care. Due to the fact that I am the first child to attend college the process and expenses of college have been a surprise to both my parents and I. With a younger brother not far behind me my parents have tried their best to put forth as much money as possible, unfortunately it will simply not be enough to pay for all of schooling. With this in mind I have decided to apply for as many scholarships as I can in hopes of obtaining financial aid to put towards college. By making barely enough money to not qualify for pell grant it has pressured me into looking…

Essay I am grateful for this opportunity to apply for the Viola B. Wilson Endowed Scholarship and the John S. Staley Memorial Fund scholarships. Scholarship opportunities have been of particular importance to me; I paid for my undergraduate education primarily on my own and will be paying for my graduate schooling on my own as well. While I am asking for financial help, my work ethic and commitment to education are a strong part of who I am. Growing up, it was my responsibility to pay for things that I wanted, and my parents provided me with work opportunities around the house to earn the money.…
