At first when given this assignment my first reaction was UGG!couldn ’t he come up with something better then that topic.I sat dazed into space for a minute then a light went off oh that’s easy since he asked the parking lot, the school bookstore, and program requirements.

First off the parking lots talking about a headache. For example, one morning I woke up late for class while on the way to school I stop to grab breakfast as I'm driving I'm eating my breakfast

I mean think about what others have to go through to get there books that’s just not fair its ok for students who qualify for loans and grants but not fair to paying out of pocket students. Another issue is program requirements. For example the developmental class in order to get from one class to the next you have to take at least two or three class before you make it to college-level courses I understand some students have been out of school longer then others and it takes time to refresh their memory instead of seven week course how about only one developmental class that covers all level before you reach the college level course .another example I ’ll like to include will allow students without high school diploma or GED to enter college under circumstance that they take developmental class and still must pass the GED testing in order to continue college level courses . In conclusion, although

Throughout high school, I have been involved in many activities. I started off with the STEM academy in my high school. In the STEM academy, we held special events that teach people, especially kids, about new experiments and science-related careers. I helped out the STEM academy by explaining people about the experiments, the purpose behind the experiments and cleaned or organized lab equipment. I was a part of the STEM academy for approximately three years in high school and I really enjoyed it because I knew I could make a difference in my community.…

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

When it comes to understanding yourself and your personality on a deeper level than normally, you must take personal stories into perspective that have shaped your life while growing up. According to McAdams, “defining oneself through a personal story is an act of psychological and social responsibility” (Engler 2009). Psychological and social responsibility relate to how you act onto actions around you and how you tie society into your viewpoint of the world. In other words, explaining yourself through a story can show several things such as how your emotions played an affect, the type of response you displayed to something that happened, and as well as the lessons you learned through a personal but also social aspect. In addition, McAdams…

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. It was a strange feeling knowing that I would no longer be Lakeland High School’s most spirited student, but there was excitement in knowing that I would soon show my pride for Colorado Mesa. Images of my blue and white spirit wear quickly changed to be maroon and gold.…

Prior to this class I knew that I should always convey the purpose of my writing, yet I tended to ignore my stance when writing. The excerpt “What My Bike Has Taught Me about White Privilege” by Jeremy Dowsett made me realize how important my stance is when writing. As writer, stance is just as important as ones purpose for writing. Learning the aspects of rhetoric was extremely beneficial. Most importantly, I learned how to argue and…

Though I agree, I do have a personal bias towards the situation because I am in college and a freshman which means taking all of these general education classes. When I was in highschool I had always been so excited to finally be able to take the classes that I wanted to that were based on my major. When I made my schedule for the first time and looked into all of the requirements I saw that I had many ‘“pointless” classes. I come personally from a family that is not well off so I will be in an extreme amount of debt. I believe that if these courses were to be elimnated so would be the amount of money I have to take out in loans.…

When I first heard about AJROTC, I wanted to take no part in it since I visioned myself being yelled at by the instructors and wearing those unappealing, green uniforms. I finally decided to join the program not because I wanted to, but because my friends joined the program as well in order to avoid being in PE. I didn’t know what I had gotten myself into. Seeing cadets being eager to take on leadership roles was something I didn't want to be involved in.…

After finishing the English 101 course I feel like I have accomplished many of the goals that I was challenged with the beginning of the course, such as critically thinking and reading with text from the textbook “Dialogues” by Gary Goshgarian, substantively replying to my peers to understand their point of views from the text and to get a better understanding of a rhetorical argument. Thinking and reading critically were very important this whole course. Thinking and reading critically were something you would have to do in every assignment that was given. Incorporating it in every assignment has helped us greatly improve week by week and betters our understanding of each topic and the assignments main idea.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…
