Do you remember watching the news in April 2010 and seeing what would later be a total of 5 million barrels of oil being spilled into the Gulf of Mexico? That was the beginning of the worst oil spill in U.S history which lasted for 87 days, spread more than 130 miles in the ocean, and killed 11 people in the initial explosion. It was BP oil company and its contractors who ignored the warning signs and proceeded to try and extract oil from a well that was not considered entirely secure.
