My internship at BP changed my life but not how I had expected. I was on my way to becoming a future master of the universe, working at one of the most prominent companies in the world. At BP, my intern class was asked to volunteer at a local summer camp for low-income children. I quickly agreed, pouncing on an opportunity to both bond with future co-workers and give back to the Houston community where I was raised.
At the camp, the interns were split into groups and given budget-related exercises. I was assigned the impossible task of encouraging campers to participate in educational exercises during their summer break.
