Ever since I’ve worked at the SAP Center as a parking attendant, I’ve encountered this woman several times while working in my designated parking lot. We acknowledged each other’s existence through eye contact, yet never had an actual conversation. The woman came up with her belongings from the creek through the fence that separated my lot from her living quarters. I then responded with skepticism, “I’m sorry I don’t have any with me.” She slightly chuckled at my response as she proceeded to grab a bottle of water from her cart and shared it with me. Perplexed, I accepted her offering, though deep down I knew that she needed it more. I thought that she needed water, when in fact, she knew that I needed the water more than she
