In the B331 classroom, we should all be positive and hard-working. We all want the class to be able to work together and be able to collaborate with one another, we all would have to be nice to one another. We can’t have someone feeling uncomfortable with sharing ideas with the class if kids will laugh at it. We also need to be hard-working so we can get the work done. My thesis is a positive classroom leads to hard working students.

One reason why B331 needs to be a positive classroom that leads to hard working students is that we need to be positive and not put ourselves down. We are smart people and we don’t need to be putting ourselves down just because we don’t get a topic. Instead of putting ourselves down, we should go ask for help. Like what Albert Einstein said, “ Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Everyone learns differently and just because you don’t get one topic, then it doesn’t mean you’re stupid. You just learn at a different speed which is perfectly fine. Overall, if we just stay positive and not

We shouldn’t be rolling our eyes if we’re stuck working with this person we don’t like. It’s not a really nice thing to do and plus you never know this kid could help you pass an assignment. Also, we should keep drama outside of the classroom. Drama is unnecessary and it could be distracting you and your fellow classmates. There is a time and a place for that, just not in the classroom. Finally, we should not be talking when the teacher is talking. It’s extremely disrespectful and you could miss important information and you’re taking away the opportunity to your fellow classmates who want to learn. Overall, if we listen and not be mean to one another then the class will go

A classroom model that aligns with the above personal classroom management philosophy, is the Positive Behaviour Leadership (PBL), created by Bill Rogers (Lyons, Ford & Arthur-Kelly, 2011). The key elements that stand out within PBL, are that any disciplinary actions that are taken, allow for students to become accountable for their behaviour and choices (Brady, 2005). This is congruent with the above management philosophy, as it places students at the forefront of their education and a gives them a pivotal place in the classroom. PBL is built on the knowledge that respect should be given for both students and teachers, and that all individuals have the right to feel safe and secure (Lyons, Ford & Arthur-Kelly, 2011). Respect is an important…

In society, teachers are expected to aim students towards achieving academic success and excellence. The performance of teachers enables students to effectively engage themselves in their learning environments. As a result, students are capable of working interactively and devoting their time to school. The standards that teachers make often determines how well a student performs in class. In general, students who not involved in classroom activities are less driven and more inclined to become disorientated compared to those who are fully committed.…

I think the teachers are right at that point because it’s hard to take control of a classroom when almost all the students are just being noisy and getting up of their desk. The teacher should give tell those students they are getting bad grades for being annoying or take them out the class. At this point I don’t see it like the teacher is wrong, the students are. I heard some teachers hit the students or sometimes just because a student its being noisy the whole classroom have to pay for it too and it shouldn’t be like that.…

I found that the microteaching lesson was a great way to gain experience in following our lesson plans and getting important feedback that can help further our development as an educator. After my microteaching lesson and upon reflecting, I have found that there are several areas that I need to work on. I need to work on creating written instructions to planned activities, help students create evidence based arguments, and create supports for students with IEPS, 504s, and ELL students. Some aspects I think I did well in are helping students to make connections with each other and engaging students by moving around and creating models.…

The teacher also needs to point out strengths by the use of encouragement besides approaching behaviour change slowly. For an example, the teacher involves all students to change the environment through teamwork. He also could provide incentives, rewards, praise which would decrease the possibility of giving negative responses among the students. This will ensure the positivity among the students to always interact with each other in finding solutions to…

Learning is like a highway, incorporating vast packets of information being delivered, often at high speeds, and building connections between different subject matters. With so much information racing down from the sensory register to the intermediate memory, it’s is easy for students to feel lost and confused about what they learn as most of the lesson is never properly recorded by their brains. As a peer instructor, I have found that in order to have effective learning there must be effective teaching, built around metacognition and student thought processes. Effective teaching begins with the learning climate; the emotional feeling a classroom exudes on a student’s learning experience (Sousa 1995).…
