Without education, there would be no advancement in the human civilization. In a dystopian society, education is very limited. Just like media, it is limited to the stuff that society wants you to know. Hiding information in almost all scenarios does not end well. A subject that most dystopian societies censor is history. History is important to learn about as we learn from other people's mistakes and we make sure that we don't those same mistakes, however, since the society has sponsored it then we will make the same mistakes which could have been avoided. In Divergent the children are sent to school and they learn.
