I chose this theme because in the story because Aylmer was striving to make Georgianna perfect, but ended up failing at the end. Striving to be perfect is foolish because it is impossible to find “heaven on earth”. In paragraph 3, Aylmer already made a comment to Georgianna saying, “has it never occurred to you that the mark upon your cheek might be removed?”, this begins to show how Aylmer is a very curious person and tries to find flaws.
