Awesome work on summing up the short story. I would like to say i agree with you on Sammy being very immature and bored, i think you nailed that. The clues that makes me believe this is, him literally judging everyone in the A & P, from the customers to the employees. The short story begins with him depicting the 3 girls and pin pointing their exact movements and describing their appearance while giving them names to identify with, such as Queenie. And goes as far as imagining Queenie's life at home, this is defiantly a form of boredom. He is immature in the way he quits his job, he resigns from his job just for a girl that didn’t give any attention towards him.
