The weather’s great and you’ve got a hundred things going on but somehow…the holiday blues. Not just a January thing but it is certainly true that, for some people, feelings of low mood and depression and bad moods can worsen as you see seemingly endless summer barbecues and jollity around you.
Holiday blues differ from Seasonal Affective Disorder, which tends to happen again and again, year after year, usually in the winter. People often think SAD only occurs during the winter, but there can be a similar effect during the spring and summer for people.
SAD tends to be more chronic, while the holiday blues may be very much more tied to a specific event like July 4th or this time of year.
