In the year 2011 there were about 20.6 million people in the United States over the age of 12 who was addicted to alcohol. As time goes on, more and more people are becoming addicted to alcohol or drugs. The reason some people can avoid addiction when so many people in their environment and family become addicted is because of a combination of factors that include Genetics and Environments, lack of knowledge about addiction, and not doing anything to cure it.
