These anti-aging properties of avocados protect the body from the dangerous free radicals. Avocados help our cells to function properly even when attacked by free radicals since they penetrate in the cell structures, entering the mitochondria and activating the production of energy. The mitochondria are very important against free radicals. They produce most of the energy of the cell using nutrients. However, these parts of the cells also generate unstable chemicals that destroy all of the components of the cells, even the mitochondria itself. This damage causes aging and therefore many scientists want to stop it. Avocado oil is able to stop this damage and this discovery has changed the way avocados are viewed. Avocado oil increases the mitochondria respiration, the production of energy from nutrients continues even when the cells are attacked by free radicals and the mitochondria cannot generate unstable chemicals.
