This essay starts with a short and crisp introduction of the movie Avatar which is written in an easy and vivid language. The reviewer goes on focussing majorly on the applications and technology of Artificial Intelligence in the movie. This review has highlighted the conceptual and thematic concerns presented throughout the films. One very important feature of this movie is that it has multiple genres, as they employ iconography and key conventions. The audience tend to have distinguished terror towards the threat posed by the Alien's mode of being.
The reviewer further talks about three important representations in the movie. The birth scene in the beginning of the movie begins with the camera exploring the inner body of the mothership. From there, all there characters slowly awaken from the sleep almost as children of the spaceship controlled by the computer system called mother.
Creed contrasts the first rebirthing scene with a second representation. The horseshoe shaped Alien Craft on the planet is first seen from the left hand side in a series of long shots. Later there is a cut to another long shot facing the centre of the horseshoe. He writes that the movie Avatar portrays Pantheistic Spirituality and a bit of a naturalistic worldview. He has perceived that the Navis consider themselves as above nature itself, but at the same time are so connected to nature that they say prayers of gratitude and sometimes they even shed tears when they hunt an animal down for food. He strongly believes that Panteism has dominated the whole movie. Pantheism is a religious belief that includes the entire Universe in its control. Avatar has introduced to the world, few very spiritual characters including Neytiri, her family and also Jake who ends up having a character transformation and becoming a highly spiritual person who loves the forest more than anything else. Spirituality is a concept which has forgotten by the reviewers of Avatar. Most of them focus on the Computer Graphics and forest but spirituality is the most important part of the plot.
The reviewer talks about different religions and tries to draw comparison with same and Avatar. Religion is something whose concept cannot be limited with the sacred notes or historic findings. An individual as all the rights to define it but propagation of the same is a whole different
