The movie I am analysing is Avatar (2009) it is directed and written by James Cameron who also co- produced the movie with Jon Landau , the music was provided by James Horner and the cinematography by Mauro Fiore . The movie grossed of 700 million in the United States alone while international it made over 2 billion making it the highest grossing film of all time. James Cameron began writing the movie in 1994 and was supposed to begin shooting it in 1997 after finishing his other movie titanic but according to him the necessary technology was not available for what he had in mind.

The film language techniques used in this movie make it easy for even the most amateur of movie goers to analyse and guess what is going to happen especially using the different camera angles showing you things that do not need to be mentioned as you have already guessed what is or has happened such as the camera angle showing how weak Jake's legs are. The area in which Jake lives is clearly been designed to show a poor area with tagging and rubbish around not to mentioned the state of the houses which do not look well maintained.
Considering this is the 22nd century you have to feel like the current state of the world is much better and it makes you think is advancing technology at a quick pace really what needed is it more important than providing the basic necessities of life to those in need such as Jake. As we currently live in the 20th century the world is a much nicer place compared to the one Jake is living in, this negativity shows how you can lose control of your life when you suffer something as traumatic as
