Avary's Parody: A Fictional Narrative

Title? The loud noise of noblemen screaming and cheering filled Avary’s room. She peered out her open window, observing the jousting duel that was occurring outside on the castle field. There were horses dressed in the finest golds, as well as, jousters of all noble origins. Sighing, she went back to preparing for her entrance. As a lady of the court and the grand princess of her kingdom, it was her duty to dress her best. Slowly, she placed her silver tiara on her head, tilting it at the perfect seventy two degree angle. Next, she went to put on her most prized possession. As a young girl, her father had ordered the kingdom blacksmith to use only the finest materials to craft a unique jewelry piece. The blacksmith returned with a pendant which held five marble spheres, each representing the five qualities of life: Justice, Patience, Humility, Ambition, Change. Avary’s nostalgic thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a knocking on the door. Startled, she dropped her necklace and scrambled to pick it up, fearful that it might be broken. “Enter,” Avary ordered, a bit annoyed while still searching for her necklace. In walked one of the castlemaids, a musty-smelling woman, whose rag clothes were ripped and scratched. “My lady, your mother has called for you to light the Inception Goblet so that the ceremony can begin”, the short …show more content…
They were all beyond ecstatic to watch as their new king was crowned. Towards the edge of the chapel stood a velvet throne, decorated with diamonds and various jewels. On either side of the diamond throne stood two smaller thrones decorated in gold. Sponsum and the Queen Mother sat in their chairs, awaiting the arrival of Rex and the commencement of the ceremony.
