Ava Brasel Character Analysis

One of my favorite people is an elderly lady named Ava Brasel. Ava is one of my Granny’s best friends and has become almost like a second grandmother to me. Throughout the years, Ava and her family have lived through many trials. Though she has questioned God as to why he has put her through these trials she still believes that he knows best. One of the first stories Ava told me was the story of her son, Stephen. Stephen grew up in health, but a few weeks before his twelfth birthday he began to grow weak and short of breath. At first the doctors did not know what caused his illness and Stephens health quickly began to deteriorate further. A few days later the doctors diagnosed Stephen with leukemia and a few days later he passed away. Ava’s

On an asphalt baseball field in Brooklyn, two teams from local Yeshivah schools meet. At first, it just seems like a baseball game between two Jewish high school teams. But the game quickly turns into a holy war when the caftan and ear lock wearing Hasidic team begins to taunt and bully the less conservative “hell-bound sinners” on the other team. Hate boils as Danny Saunders, the leader of the Hasidic team, purposely hits a pitch right back at the pitcher, crushing his glasses and landing him in the hospital for a week. “The best index of a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.” I consider this quote by Abigail VanBuren to be very true. What it means is that we can determine someone’s character based on how they treat others. People who will only do good for someone who would return the favor have bad character. Someone like this would take advantage of others to get to where they want to go in life, only having shallow relationships with others and not bothering to hold a genuine friendship.…

Slavery is an evil that corrodes the slave 's life as well as the slaveholder 's mind and behavior. As demonstrated in the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave, the personality of the most pure masters and mistresses can have a negative 180 degree turn after experiencing slavery. Frederick Douglass argues this by presenting the examples of Sophia Auld (a white mistress) and Thomas Auld (a non-born slaver owner) who were influenced by slavery to become dishonest and immoral. The evil of slavery affected both men and women slaveholders.…

Although Archer and India Black take place during different time periods they have two comparable characteristics as espionage fiction. Their characteristics include the ineffectiveness of espionage operations and also the physical adventure of the operations instead of the strategies. First, in the episode of Archer “The Limited,” the character Archer at two specific times demonstrates inefficiency in the espionage plan. Archer showing up at the train intoxicated determines a lack of focus and responsibility that a secret agent would commonly possess. The second time would be when Archer is on top of the train preparing to fight the Canadian terrorist and proceeds to save Babou instead of carrying the operation out.…
