Language in the workplace is a vital component in determining the success of any business; in this instance AutoPro. Furthermore, the interactions that an employee has with their superiors, work colleagues and clients determines the overall success of the communication by using the appropriate type of language.

AutoPro Gawler is a retail store with the intention of providing the public with specialty parts for a large range of car models, general parts and car care products. AutoPro uses a combination of two language styles within their store. A mechanical language and retail language are both included in AutoPro as they require the retail ethics and language to operate in an efficient and professional way. They also need to know the mechanical language in order to communicate with the automotive suppliers, customers and to recommend

The employees and the boss treat each other with the same level with respect and communicate the same despite one member being in charge of the store. One thing that makes the communication different is that the store is male dominant, with all employees being single gender this allows a different style of communication within this workplace. As well as being male dominant the language used in the workplace contains a large amount of humour as it is laid back and the relationships are quite relaxed. The body language in the workplace is also quite relaxed; all employees were comfortable whilst behind the counter and presented themselves in a casual manor when working with customers. One of the advantages of this communication style is that for new employees or suppliers they can communicate easily without any pressure or stress. Being in this environment for work experience, it was evident that it was inclusive and as a result made it easy to pick up on their communication and body language style; this made fitting in easier and
