this shows how the automobile got a somewhat bad reputation across the country, making the law more strict and the crime rates increase during the 1920’s to 1930’s. “prohibitions role in stock car racing” auto.howstuffworks.com by Vivian Bullen. this article as previously mentioned shows how cars changed prohibition, but later in the same article the author goes more into how prohibition changed the cars themselves. this article tells of how the “moon runners” would brag of who outran the cops at the fastest speeds, or who made the faster runs at night. this lead to people “beefing” their engines with modifications to make them run faster, in turn leading to people meeting o weekends to race, which lead to present day stock car racing.
