Autobiographical Narrative: A’s and B’s Have you ever procrastinated to study for a test or an exam? Studying for a test is not easy and it takes a lot of time to understand the full concept of the lesson. Studying is a good opportunity for students to develop time management skills. While you have six or seven classes, you tend to receive homework for three or four classes. How do you manage to finish on time so you get to bed early? Often times, students will receive unwanted scores due to their lack of sleep and stress. When someone leaves all of their homework to the last day, it piles up, along with tests. When you leave studying to the last minute, the information that you have studied gets stored into short term memory and doesn’t come to your benefit during the test. You might remember the objective for a week or two, but after that, you won’t be able to look back upon those concepts and tap into prior knowledge for another lesson that might be interconnected to the same idea. For me, I have always procrastinated and left my homework and studying to the last minute. One time, I had left all …show more content…
When I got home from school at four o’clock , I started my homework right away. That day I had spent over seven to eight hours studying for my finals. Time flew with a blink of an eye and I was still there studying. It was a lot of stress piled up on me for one day knowing this will make or break my whole semester grade. I still had many chapters to read and it was already eleven. I thought to myself, “When am I going to finish?” I knew that if I wanted to perform well in school I had to sleep. So I came up with a plan that I would wake up at five a.m. and study again for the other chapters that were left behind. When I got up at five, I was tired and hungry. My stomach was barking and growling at me, asking me to feed it food. I was drooling on my papers like a waterfall. I was lacking awareness for my

Quickly, you mentally check off all of the completed tasks when you come across the assignment you have been putting off for a week now—and it is due tomorrow. Your body responds instantly, flooding your brain with a mix of adrenaline and anxiety. You forget the idea of sleeping tonight as you face the consequences of your chronic procrastination.…

Today I had gold day classes which was fine and okay because nothing really excites me as much as Hist 34. In Hist 34, I got to learn all about Asian Immigrants or citizens that were in the USA in the 1800s to 1900s of how they were treated badly like the African Americans. Later that day I really loved that class but the stress was building up with the other college classes that I had. Because in all of my college classes there will always be a paper to type, and I do not have time to do my other homework especially for my first-period class, AP Econ where my grade is really poor at the time. Today at school, it is going normally like any other busy school day.…

That's why I chose Mr. Jupena for this assignment because without him telling me about that story, and pushing me to try harder, even when I felt like I've done sufficient; I wouldn't be here writing this I would probably not have ever tried to challenge myself, and would be in regular core classes instead of all honors classes. So please take this information I am giving you seriously because eventually you probably won't ever have to work hard ever again. So that's it, that's my story, and again I say "Everyone wants to have all A's on their report card,…

College Success Skills #2 At the beginning of this semester, my main goal was to work on my habit of procrastination. I wanted to manage my time better with the use of a planner and make myself sit down and do my homework or study ahead of time so that I wouldn’t be as stressed out and could have time to have fun with friends without worrying about an assignment or test. At first I was doing an okay job, but soon I found myself falling back into my old habits.…

Midterm Reflection As a freshman in college I thought I would be struggling miserably, surprisingly I am doing much better than I expected in my English 1303 course. In my premortem I had written that I would be procrastinating, the only problem is that instead of finishing my assignment in five minutes, I finish it an hour before class starts. However, this is because I have encountered issued I was unaware of; such as, family problems, distractions, and lack of time management skills. Personally, I only have the power to control one out of these three factors, which is time management, and I am proud to say that I am currently in the process of successfully working on that.…

My fingers stretch out trying to feel the warmth of the morning burst. Sitting on my lap was my sister with two front teeth missing, a grin on a face, and the eyes of a giant broccoli. My mom was making bacon and egg and the smell threatened me to getting up. All of a sudden the phone rang while I was eating my breakfast half awake and half asleep. I dragged myself to the phone and on the phone was my girlfriend, Abella, who was asking if we could go to the mall together.…

As soon as my mother drove away last August, leaving me at the University of Maryland, alone, I began my journey of becoming an adult; at least I feel like I did. I remember walking into the building where I was going to live for the next year, feeling old. “I am a college freshman,” I thought to myself. I did not know what to expect out of my freshman year. They say that college is a time of self-discovery, full of both trials and prosperity, and lasting memories and friends.…

I have had many experiences with stress and encounter it on a day to day basis so it was a little complicated when it came to choosing a particular experience to talk about. I think school stresses me out the most. School has always been a major stressor in my life. Although, this particular stressor causes both distress and eustress, I find it to cause distress a majority of the time. I find that the root of my distress comes from not getting a grade I wanted, having to keep up with due dates and assignments, studying, and most of all living up to someone’s expectations of me.…

Over the course of the semester, I endured many challenges that I was able to eventually overcome. At the beginning of the semester one of the challenges I faced was time management. One of the reasons that this happened is that the class met once a week and I was accustomed to meeting with my professors twice a week. For this reason, at the beginning of the course adjusting to the workload was an issue. Since the class met once a week, I left most of the readings and reflections that were assigned for the night before.…
