Auto Mechanics stereotypes Automotive mechanics have been perceived as a shady bunch, because of the stereotypes and misconceptions that pertain to them. A mechanic is no other than just another human being trying to do his job but is stereotyped as being uneducated , having dirty hands , and someone who breaks parts to get more work. The reason the stereotypes and misconceptions about auto mechanic exist is that they were created based on the experience that people had with certain mechanics. So they just titled the group rather than a single out the individual who was to blame for the problem. Aside from what they really are they are also seen as dirty, dishonest and uneducated individuals. The reason that they are perceived that way is that people don't have any basic knowledge of them they just assume everything that they hear and see being the truth about them. Mechanics are mostly made up of men because not much women take interest in becoming a mechanic. The majority of auto mechanics are males ranging from the ages twenty and above. Being a mechanic isn't as easy as it was when first introduced due to multiple certifications are required today in order to become one and they are only obtainable through college courses and some tech schools. A mechanic is not just any old uneducated person it is someone with the knowledge and ability to get a car up and going down the road, but to many people view them all the same. They are hardworking people that spend many hours under or in some place around what they are repairing so it is unavoidable at times to remain clean it's not that they want to be dirty all the time but that it is just unavoidable at certain times or places that they are working at. Auto mechanics also happen to be some of the friendliest people because they enjoy assisting the customer in need and in order to satisfy them they acquire the habit and manners of treating people with the most considerate thoughts. It's not to attract more customers in but because they want them to feel assured that their car is in good hands also it is the right thing to do.
