Autistic V. Artistic

Josh will baby you and be there for whatever he can however he can with the patience of a saint. It just takes a while and some digging to find that part. He is loyal, and it shows. Whereas Chris, wants you to succeed but to do it on your own and will only guide you if he sees what he feels is enough effort put forth. Otherwise, you are going to learn the hard way and he mustn't be bothered with a waste of his time. Both can be very snippy if their requirements aren't met for them to help you but both are extremely valuable ways to learn. It is a beautiful synergy to say the least, it is nice to have both sides of the spectrum …show more content…
Their friendships are invaluable to anyone they meet in life and I know personally I couldn't ask for better. They create a perfect zen; I feel they are just similar enough to learn how to deal with one or the other more efficiently but just different enough to really help someone get a grasp for people and the array that there is in the

Steel Magnolias is my favorite movie. This movie reflects the daily lives of six southern women with different personalities and careers. Being a southern girl I could see myself in one of the characters. M'Lynn, Truvy, Annelle, Claree, Shelby and my favorite Ouiser all had a unique personality but are alike in so many ways which is the love they have for their families, one another, and the support for each other during family crisis. They laughed together, cried together and even made jokes about one another but as friends they always made the best out of all obstacles that crossed them rather it was a happy occasion or tragic.…

Watching Autism: The Musical showed me how students with autism and other developmental disabilities interacted in a social setting such as creating a musical. More importantly, this film highlighted how parents cope with their child having developmental disabilities and the struggles they face. The director of the play adopted her son, Neal at twenty-three months and immediately knew he was different. Neal would scream and have tantrums. There came a point where Neal would not speak.…

Research indicates that there are many strategies that could increase children’s academic and social performance in schools (Eikeseth et al., 2007; Eikeseth, Smith, Jahr, & Eldevik, 2002; Sallows & Graupner, 2005; Vismara & Rogers, 2008; Vivanti et al., 2014). When searching for the best strategy for each individual child, it is important to identify the Autism severity and the program (Reed & Osborne, 2012). Time input of the intervention also impacts the success of the strategy. The level of time input from the approaches is critical to the student success, and the children’s gains are proportional to the time input of the program (Reed & Osborne, 2012). With the increasing prevalence of ASD, it is important to identify interventions that can be used in and outside of the classroom to increase student academic and social success.…

The person whom I had chosen to interview with is a woman who has three daughters diagnosed with autism. Her name is “Dana Reeds,” and her daughters (beginning with the oldest to the youngest) are named “Priscilla,” age twelve, “Tina,” age eleven, and “Leslie,” age eight. Dana has four other children who don’t have a disability, and all of them go to school. This mother was the first option in my head to be the perfect example for the interview. I am related to her, and knowing she is an easy-going person, I knew she wouldn’t mind if I asked a few questions on the daughters who have autism.…
