Autism is a disorder that affects how someone communicates and interacts with others. Some causes for this disorder are problems in the nervous system, rubella in the pregnant mother, or some just think there is no cause for autistic kids. To understand autism, we need to understand the symptoms, treatments, and what it is like to live with it.

Sometimes people can even recover from ASD and no longer demonstrate autistic symptoms, but no one out grows autism. Early treatment the earlier the better. Experts may argue about which treatment are best but everyone agrees that treatment, or intervention must begin as soon as possible after diagnosis (Scherer 51). Without treatment while they are young, autistic children may grow up unable to tell the world what autism feels like and how it affects their lives. Some autistic people wear a tight wristband, because they find that the bands pressure helps calm down. The goal of many scientists is to understand the exact cause of autism so as to prevent it in the first place (Scherer 69).
"Autistic children have difficulties with social interaction, problems with verbal narrow, obsessive interests" (Allman 23). Autistic children can be very different from one another but they all have problems in those three areas of learning and growing.
