Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders, characterized by social impairment, communication difficulties and restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior. Autism or classical ASD is the most severe form of the autism spectrum disorder. A milder form of ASD is the Asperger Syndrome. The Autism Spectrum Disorder occurs in all ethnic and socioeconomic groups and can affect every age group. Currently 1 out of 68 people have ASD. Males are more likely to have ASD, they’re about 4 of 5 times more likely than girls. An early diagnosis around 18 months is highly correlated with dramatically better outcomes. Professional assessment of behavior determines whether ASD is present in a child. Screening Tools are used to check children with autism. There is a clear biological origin of autism in the form of abnormal brain development, structure and/or neurochemistry. In 90-95% of cases, the cause of autism is unknown. Researchers have not yet found that there is a casual link between parenting style and autism. People think that vaccinations play a big role in autism; however, there is no evidence that can prove this theory. It is said that autism is a developmental disability, generally evident before age 3, that adversely affects a child’s performance. Children with ASD generally are marked by 3 defining features of development, social interaction, communication, and behavior.
