Progression within the dilemma will be slow because there will always be people in the world who will abuse their powers for a private gain or for some sort of satisfaction. Also, in the future, police shootings might not slow down or occur as often, but the media will cover more of these incidents. With a steady growth in technology, the media will eventually have more access to spreading news. With this, we are not seeing more police shootings, we are just receiving more news coverage. An interview with former enlisted Airman, Ricky Price, further investigates what takes place within the military. When asked about his views on ethics in the military, he replies by saying “Kids nowadays are learning about ethics more than I ever did when I was in high school or even in college, and that was quite some time ago. I believe in ethics in the military because although some people make the right decisions, people are also capable of doing the wrong things. There were no classes on the subject, the definition most teachers gave whenever the topic of ethics came about was generic. After being in a classroom where ethics serves as the foundation, I deepened my understanding of what ethics really is and how it affects everyone 's lives. When I first started to draft my paper, I could not tell how it was going to pan out because of my prior knowledge to ethics. After being introduced and being taught about different scenarios where ethics plays a role, the topic of the paper became more clear to write about. Even though we relate our paper to our career pathway, the thought process of the topic was very simple to me. I have developed my understanding of ethics within the military through my research. The research found describes how some military officials decide to abuse their power which results in the murders and victimization of multiple people, while others proceed with initial force because of quick thinking and personal judgement calls. Even though authoritarian brutality started year ago, different forms of authoritarian brutality still occur today. In the beginning, my primary concerns about my pathway was just how one can fulfill their necessary duties while still being a helpful and giving citizen.
