Authoritarian Parenting

The ethics that parents educate their children with has the capability to influence them long term. The mannerisms that are practiced at home and in public will be reflected through children’s behaviors. The amount of love and attention children receive growing up in many situations will determine the level of nurturing they will express to their children. The parenting approach that are practiced each parent is as diverse as the parents themselves, which includes the following approaches authoritarian, permissive, authoritative, and uninvolved. “From an outsider, one who doesn’t believe in an authoritarian approach, authoritarian behavior may feel very uncomfortable; however, for some families it is the appropriate approach and their children find security in knowing that their parents are in charge” (Mena,2013, p. 235). Both the mother and father were present on their family outing at the park. There were two children a boy and a little girl. During the time, they spent at the park both parents were very involved and put forth the extra effort of giving both of their children undivided attention. Mom and dad played and set beside their children as their boy and little girl played. I believe the parents and their children were enjoying their quality time equally.
