Authentic leadership

Authentic leadership refers to the legitimacy of a leader, which is formed through honest relationships with their followers. Authentic leaders are said to be positive, open people who are also perceived as truthful. Politicians by stereotype are rarely referred to as authentic. Common adjectives for politicians usually include the words untrustworthy, conniving and misleading, all of which would not be characteristics of an authentic leader. Clinton has had many scandals surround his career most famously the Lewinsky Scandal. As mentioned previously, the revelation to the public that Clinton was indeed a philanderer did not seem to hinder him in his personal approval ratings.
