Not tools like we use now, but they had ways of getting things done. They also have a smaller skull and smaller teeth than the Australopithecus. Their average size is 3ft 4in - 4ft 4in and their average weight was 70 lbs. Their diet is similar to the Australopithecus with the addition of tougher leaves and animal meat.
Finally we have Neanderthals, they are the closests to modern humans out of the three. Differences between us and them are that they have bigger noses and bigger bodies. They still have to withstand the colder weather, so they have thicker bodies. Their average size is 5ft 5in and 143 lbs. For the most part they are fairly adapted, they have shelters, they hunt food, contain fire, and use more modern tools. They ate meats and plants they gathered.
Our environment has changed quite a bit since Neanderthals lived. Over the years the Earth has gotten progressively warmer. Our ancestors had to go through much colder temperatures with fewer resources to keep warm. Today we build our houses and cook our food in ovens and back then they lived in caves and ate their food raw or cooked it over a fire. Now we don’t have to worry about getting a cold and it being life threatening, because we have doctors, hospitals, and medicine. We also don’t have to about wild animals coming into our homes and killing us. We have it much easier
