The development and use of nuclear weapons had a very large impact on America's economy, and the way we not only did politics from then on, but how we were perceived by other nations, from then on. During the time before the United States became involved in World War II, preparations were being made, either to contribute to our allies in the way of loans, and goods, or because inevitably, the United States might be drawn into the world war. Roosevelt wanted to help our allies, and stop the spread of communism, but was concerned about getting directly involved in the war.
