Australians Persuasive Speech

I am writing to you on the basis of your new policy of “Stopping the boats”. I believe that it is highly unethical that one should restrict the access of another human being, who is displaced by means of war or poverty into the Australian border.

The concerns I am raising are thematically paralleled in the Australian National Anthem “For all who’ve come across the seas we’ve boundless plains to share”. Why must this policy dictate entry access to our nation if it is indicatively stated that we have “Boundless place to share”? This would inherently go against our Australian national identity. More Canadians than ever seem to prefer flying out of U. S. airports to reach their destinations. This is largely due to the cost efficiency of catching a flight from a facility such as SeaTac Airport instead of a Canadian airport. If you are driving to SeaTac to catch a flight, you probably wish to find a parking facility with affordable rates, and you’ll certainly want to be sure that your car is left in a safe place. Like countless fellow Canadians, you may well appreciate the low prices, convenience, and other benefits of leaving your vehicle at an off-site SeaTac Airport parking lot, such as Aeroparking’s Park & Fly lot. Quick Access to SeaTac Airport One of the top benefits of long-term parking with Aeroparking is the quick trip…

If the Newseum is torn down, the first amendment will not have a place to be celebrated just for itself, so there will be no place to celebrate the first American Constitutional freedom. President Trump is pressuring Congress into passing a bill that will start a project to make room for new monuments. The project will consist of tearing down monuments that the government feels are unnecessary. The project will ruin DC and the American spirit. If the bill does pass, the Newseum should definitely not be torn down since it is a reminder of what America is, it will have horrible economic effects on the country, and tearing it down will diminish the American spirit.…

Turning away refugees goes against the 1951 United Nations refugee convention. “The journey refugees make is dangerous and controlled by criminal gangs, and we have a right to stop it,” says both Labour and coalition parties, who support tough refugee policies (source 6). Australia’s leading coalition government made refugee and asylum seeker policies strict when it took government in 2013, which first introduced the military in control of intercepting refugees on Australian waters, turning them away (source 6). The liberal government responded to this by saying “its policies have restored the integrity of its borders and helped prevent deaths at sea” (source 6). The government is causing deaths at sea because they are sending back refugees…

I did a post almost 3 years ago "Air Travel With Your Toddler" that I still use most of the tips for and Madison at the time was only a year old. As you know, I recently took my pre-schooler to London. It was not her first flight but it surely was one of the longest in quite some time. We have traveled to the Caribbean quite a few times, where we have had long layovers and our entire journey took over 9hrs. Now while we've been traveling since she was 3 months old, it seems like the older she gets, the more difficult it becomes.…

Although Australia has the ability to take in refugees, it is still unacceptable to have such large welfare costs and enormous amounts of funds for refugees to employ. This is what we are displeased to see. As a developed country, we have a demand for a group of socially useful people rather than refugees who have shockingly low levels of education and are clearly, economically harmful to our nation. In 2014 Sydney experienced a hostage crisis at the Lindt Cafe .…

It was former Prime Minister John Howard who once said during the launch his 2001 election campaign: “We will decide who comes to this country and the circumstances in which they come”. It was in response to the Tampa crisis where Norwegian freighter MV Tampa rescued 438 refugees off a sinking fishing boat named the Palapa (Doherty, 2011). It was an event that ushered Australia into what is now more than a decade of constant failures to meet humanitarian conventions and international laws outlined by the United Nations and ratified by the Australian government. Federal politicians will often exhort to the use of exclusionary, and often divisive language whenever asylum seekers or refugees are discussed, particularly in the public realm. The…
