According to Australian Institute of Criminology a woman dies at the hands of a current or former partner almost every week in Australia. One in three Australian women have experienced physical violence. Could you imagine yourself or a loved one being a victim of domestic violence? Put yourself into those shoes and feel the anger and hatred towards the attacker. It’s easy to ignore until the confronting statistics are right in front of your face.
Domestic violence is not just a phenomenon that happens between your everyday couples, but there have also been certain cases that involve quite well known celebrities all around the world.
Back in 2009, American singer and artist Chris brown was accused & convicted of beating up and then continuing to threaten to murder his innocent girlfriend, Rihanna, Stemming from what a police detective described as a brutal argument between the singer and his girlfriend provoked by her discovery of a text message from another girl.
He pulled his car over and tried to push Rihanna out however she was still wearing her seatbelt, he then smashed Rihanna 's head against the window, whilst he continuously punched her with his right hand, and continued driving after biting her on the ear. Chris then threatened to kill Rihanna after she pretended to leave a phone message with her assistant, telling her to have the police waiting at her house.
Chris Brown was charged with assault over Rihanna - domestic violence. He was sentenced to serve five years…
