I am reaching out to all of you because we are desperate in need of your help. We want to put a stop to gender inequality, to do this, we need people from all over the world to get involved. This will be the first campaign of its kind in Australia. We need to rally as many men/boys as we possibly can to help us fight for change. And, we don’t just want to talk about this issue. We want to try and make sure that it’s perceptible.
I was nominated as a Goodwill Ambassador for Oxfam Australia around six months ago. And, the more I addressed feminism, the more I discovered that battling for women’s rights is often made synonymous with man-hating. I know one thing for certain, and it is that this view of feminism must stop.

I’m from Australia, and I believe it is right that I am paid the same wage as my male colleagues. I believe I should be able to decide what happens to my own body. I believe it is right that women should be involved in the decisions that will have an affect on my life. I believe that socially, I should be given the same respect as men.
I have had a fortunate life, as my parents didn’t love me any less because I was born as a daughter. My school didn’t hold me back from doing the things I loved because I was a female. My mentors in life don’t think that I won’t go far in life because I may one day give birth to a child of my own. These people are the gender equality role models that made me the person I am today. They may not know it, but they are the indirect feminists that are helping us change the world today. We need more of these people in the world.
If you still have a dislike for the word, the word is not that significant. It’s the desire and the idea behind it. Not all women have experienced the same rights I have, statistically speaking, only very few have experienced the life I have
