In regards to the article of Inclusive education in Australia: Rhetoric, reality and the road ahead, I have learnt the current position of inclusion in schools and its place in education in Australia. I have also learnt that inclusive education happens when children with and without disabilities participate and learn together in the same classes and that all children in Australia have the right to an inclusive education. Australian schools have an increasingly diverse population of learners with all different backgrounds, this article for Inclusion education in Australia forms part of the IE review on schooling in Australia, its brings to light the need for IE and also the consequences of poorly used IE. The main aim of inclusive education is to ensure that all students participate in the classrooms with their same-age peers and develop emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically to their fullest ability. I have also learned that inclusive education requires putting inclusive values into action to ensure all children and adults belong, participate and flourish. However, there are many barriers to the realisation of this right in the lived experiences of children and families within Australia. Some experts believe that the practice of inclusion in the classroom is beneficial to students. While others argue that inclusion is difficult to achieve and may be detrimental to some students.
