Auschwitz-Birkenau: The Horror Of The Holocaust

In the past, a mass killing of Jews by the Nazis took place known as the Holocaust. The Nazis had different ways of killing the Jews, one of the methods used would be the transportation to the concentration camps, where Jews were killed either right away or later on, but luckily some survived. One of main concentration camps goes by the name of Auschwitz, or Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest and most populated concentration camps of all time. A bigger history falls with Auschwitz compared to the other concentration camps, but it should not be looked upon more than the other camps as mass killing took place in every single concentration camp. The important things to understand about the camp Auschwitz, but are not limited to are the background, the prisoner treatment, and the purpose of the camp.
The background should be explained first as it gives greater understanding when being explained the other topics. Although considered an important camp, Auschwitz holds no significant purpose except for the fact that there was many different facilities, housing more people than other camps, and also having more transportation of Jews due to the railroads. Although the purposes are the same, the purposes should still be noted such as that it was a mass killing facility, it made people go into harsh labor, and prisoners were also used to conduct medical experiments. Although Auschwitz shows similarities to the other camps, it is not exactly the same. The camp holds many different facilities compared to other camps meaning that the camp has to have different features.
