Aunt Alexandra lives in a little town in Alabama called Maycomb. This town is a simple town which leans more towards the poor side of most other towns of similar size. It does contain a basic school with multiple grades and a single white folk’s church along with a single colored folk’s church. The story about Aunt Alexandra and Maycomb takes place during the Great depression of the 1930’s right after World War I.
Aunt Alexandra is Atticus Finch's sister, which makes her Scout’s and Jem’s aunt. She is a very proper woman of the era and very ladylike. Because of the way she presents herself and because of the beliefs she holds, she tries to change the Finch’s household. Aunt Alexandra is greatly concerned about proper manners, family heritage, and moral values.

The New Aunt Alexandra By the end of the story “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Aunt Alexandra had changed significantly. She has realized that the way Atticus’s kids were raised was well enough to survive and right after all. She witnessed this when Bob Ewell attacked Scout and Jem. She heard of the siblings protecting each other against the brutal attack by pulling Bob off of each other. She later learns to accept the way people do things such as raising their kids(as her brother Atticus has) and how people feel or how they do things like with Cuprina.
