Today I went with Gus to get check out by his doctor. I was really moved by what I heard.
“The tumor in his chest in decreasing. Your medication is exterminating some of the cancer cells. I am going to keep prescribing the meds to you until we see a more significant result,” said Dr. Thompson.
“Will the cancer ever go away completely?” asked a concerned Gus.
“It should. I am going to talk to some other doctors who may know more about your situation than I do. If the actions of the medications continue, there is a higher chance that we can

We made ourselves some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Then we sat down on his living room couch to watch V for Vendetta, yet again. We curled up on the couch and gazed into the tv screen. I think I may have fell asleep for the whole movie because when I woke up, they were already on the credits.
“Tired?” asked Augustus.
“Not anymore. You must feel relieved that you are getting better.”
“I am so grateful, I can’t even express it.”
“I can't even imagine what I would do if I lost you.” ... From that day on, Gus and I see each other almost everyday. Usually at eachothers houses, but occasionally on a date. We have lots of picnics together and dinners with our parents. Sometimes we go to a park or drive a few hours just to see a museum exhibit. Everything and anything we do together is special.
