The fault in our stars is a story about a girl and a boy falling in love. They both are very sick with different types of cancer. Augustus ends up falling in love with Hazel. Hazel meets Augustus at a group for people with different types of sicknesses. Augustus is a very good person if you need someone to change your views about life and views about sickness. Augustus displays the power of one by standing up for his beliefs, By taking a stand against society and affecting change in Hazel's life.

An example would be that he drives really crazy and doesn’t follow rules. Another example, is three of his closest friends threw a fake funeral for him before he died.At the funeral they set it up to be as real as possible. They had the things that they were to do at the real funeral when he passes away. There was a lot of crying and emotions at the fake funeral. Augustus actually realized he was going to die pretty soon. So he gerot very emotional and started crying.
Augustus affected change in Hazel's world by meeting her. An example would be a trip to amsterdam. They took a trip to amsterdam and Hazel's parents and doctors did not think her body could make it. They thought she shouldn't go. She was fine when she went. She had some difficulties breathing and stuff but she survived. Augustus motivated her to want to change for the better so she didn’t dwell in her sickness. He influenced her in a way that no other person did. He helped her by telling her not to look only at her illness but look at the potential she
