The heart of Jesus. Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster met in the heart of Jesus, “Literally”. Augustus and Hazel met at a support group for cancer patience. After the group meeting was over they both went to Augustus’ house to watch a movie. When Hazel went back home she stayed up all night reading a book Augustus gave to her to read. They then the next day got together again to hang out.

The support group for cancer patience was in the heart of Jesus. When people were sharing their cancer journey stories a boy named Augustus Waters shared with the group that he had osteosarcoma. From having osteosarcoma he lost one of his legs. After he shared his story Hazel Grace shared hers. She had a lung tumor and mets all over her body. After the meeting was over Augustus went over to Hazel and started talking to her. They talked about oblivion and what their favorite books/movies were. Hazel’s favorite book is An Imperial Affliction By Peter Van Houten and Augustus’ favorite movie is V for Vendetta.

After they talked for a while Hazel’s mom came to pick her up. Augustus then asked Hazel to come to his house and watch a movie with him. At first Hazel was hesitant because she didn’t know him all that well. But then she just decided to go

She at first didn’t think she would like it because normally she doesn’t like any books except for An Imperial Affliction but she decided to take it anyway. After she took the book Augustus said to text him when she is finished with it. Hazel thought that was odd because he never gave her his number and then she said that she bet he put it inside the book, and she was right. She stayed up all night just to finish the book. The next day she texted him telling him that she finished it. He said that he has been waiting all day and night to hear from her again. After that they got together again and talked about
