In the army of Augustus, the soldiers had a very interesting life and organization style. During his rule, Augustus captured many areas including Egypt, Turkey, and Germany. Because of this Augustus almost doubled the size of his empire. As mentioned before the battle of Egypt happened early in his rule. Aside from military achievements Augustus did many other things. During his rule he created many statues and monuments which still stand today. He is responsible also for the Roman theater. As emperor he was nitpicky about every little detail in rome. One great thing that he did was give the senate back their power in the empire. Augustus's army was a very strong force. In the army he had a whole 28 legions. Although Augustus had some power the senate had most of the power. With this in play, Rome was a popular place to go to. One great thing that Augustus did was establish peace across continents. With this comes happiness. Even today, Rome has many things that were created by Augustus. Most of these are common tourist attractions. These include the Colosseum, the theatre, and many of the famous statues. After his death Rome was at peace for over 150 years. With the government set up the way it was Rome was a powerhouse and the best place to live it for a long time. Sadly the peace did not last forever.
