Reflective Question #1: What are your academic goals for the program you have selected and how do those goals match with your broader educational goals at Augustana. In other words, how does the program you wish to join further your academic plan for growth and development at Augustana?

In what ways can you impact the quality of the experience and the quality of learning you take away from the program? Study away is a form of experiential learning, so what do you see as your role in the experiences you will undertake?
The New Zealand internship program offers students immense amounts of freedom in their daily learning at their chosen internships. If accepted to the program, I would take responsibility for my own education there by treating my internship program as one of the most crucial parts of my Augustana experience. I realize that getting accepted into a study abroad program is a great honor and privilege. Participating in an internship would be just like taking a class here at Augustana, meaning, I would approach each day as a new day to learn all that I can while representing Augustana and its students in the most professional and respectable way. I believe that I can enhance the quality of this study abroad program by working just as hard, if not harder, than I do in my classes at Augustana in order to grow in my knowledge and cherish each new experience I encounter. My role in the new experiences that will be presented to me is to find the lesson in each encounter. I already try to practice this each day because I believe often it is the little things that can teach someone the most valuable lessons. I plan to apply these lessons
