Auggie Wren seems to be dishonest throughout the whole story. He is depicted as dishonest more than once during the story. The first part of his dishonesty is described on page 3, lines 21-27, when he says: “(…) That’s right, Granny Ethel,´ I said. I came back to see you on Christmas. ´Don’t ask me why I did it. (…) It just came out that way, and then this old woman was suddenly hugging me there in front of the door, and I was hugging her back”. First of all, to put the record straight, this is Auggie pretending to her grandson Robert. Second of all, Auggie went to Granny Ethel’s house to hand over her grandson’s belongings.
