Audrey Hepburn was a successful actress, her prime in the acting business being in the 1950s and 60s. She is very well known for her film Breakfast at Tiffany’s and her Broadway performance of Gigi, and is one of only 13 people who have received an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony award. She was also active in helping children in need through the organization UNICEF. Despite the fact that Audrey had to manage numerous hardships throughout her life, including a near death experience as an infant, the battle to survive through WWII, five miscarriages, and at her end, appendix cancer, she never let it impede doing what she adored, acting and helping others. Other than the previously mentioned Gigi, Sauce Tartare, and Sauce Piquante, she played Ondine in the theater rendition of the 1811 novella Undine, which won her a Tony. This was only one of her many awards, as Audrey Hepburn was one of only thirteen people who have won an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). Hepburn earned an Academy Award (Oscar) for best actress in a film for her performance in Roman Holiday. Near the end of her life, in 1887, she was introduced to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) by Robert Wolders, the man she spent the final 12 years of her life with. They went to Macao in October for a concert to benefit UNICEF at the request of her cousin, Leopold Quarles Van Ufford, where she delivered a speech she had written. “Immediately recognizing her natural connection to the children, James Grand, the executive director of UNICEF at the time, approached her and offered her an ambassadorship. She left for her first trip in April 1988 (Hepburn-Ferrer).” One of the reasons why she decided to join the organization was her experience with World War II as a child. She remembered the feeling of hunger and constant fear and seeing her family living through the hardships, and it reminded her of the children in need today.
In 1992, Audrey was diagnosed with appendix cancer on a UNICEF trip to Somalia. One of her friends has said that even during her painful last days, she never complained. Sadly, she died on January 20th, 1993 in Tolochenaz, Switzerland at the age of 63, only 5 months after her cancer diagnosis.
Due to Audrey Hepburn’s success in film and on stage, as well as her activeness in helping individuals in need through UNICEF, she will always be in our hearts. Sadly, she met her untimely end due to cancer

She was a strong woman and growing up with the movie based on her life being my favorite film, it showed me at a young age that you can still be a good person even under the pressure of being incredibly successful. Selena was not one to let fame influence who she was as a person.
