Audience Demographics

Decent Essays
When giving a speech, your audience will have similarities and characteristics known as demographics. A few demographics to consider while giving a speech would be age, education, gender, race and culture. You can analyze your audience based on these demographics, also known as audience demographic analysis, and use them when delivering your speech. This is an important strategy to follow because you can avoid insulting or offending anyone. Even more importantly it can help get your message across. Another thing you’ll want to consider is the setting, or geographic location. The geographic location can influence the audience’s desire to listen. Things like, the size of the room, temperature, or even the time of day can really have an impact

For my pitch I selected the target audience of students who are contemplating about taking the online english course next year. I was able to target my audience by being able to relate to what they are going through.
