Attraction By Penny Reid: Character Analysis

Decent Essays
Everything about this book and I just clicked, I loved the writing style, the story setting, plot and the characters. Really, I just loved everything about this book.

This was my first book by Penny Reid, and from the moment I started reading I can tell I was going enjoyed the writing style, her stories were a constant surprise as well, it wasn't just romance stories, there has been always something extra.

With that said, I really didn't feel like I read a short novel, I thought the Attraction was well-written, well-developed, the author didn't tried to fit too much stuff in the first installment, which really allowed the readers to get to know the characters, and in this case they're out of control chemistry as well (very sexy).

One of the assets which the author possesses is phrasing and choice of words. Her sentence structures flowed very nicely and did not run on too much. It was pleasing to read and wasn’t too complicated to understand. Furthermore, the author of this book also used great detail in her story. In order for a story to be enjoyable to read, the writer should be able to take you to a whole new world through his or her own words.…

    * This book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review I'm sad to say that this is my first 3 star rating for a CoHo book. After falling in love with It Ends With Us, and crying for days after it was over, I was excited and nervous to read yet another emotional Colleen Hoover book. Without Merit didn't have much of a description, so needless to say I was going into this book pretty blindly. Once I finished the 1st chapter, I was already hit with some crazy news, which ultimately led into a story that I was not expecting.…

All Married couples hit rough patches in their relationships and it is about whether or not they power through those rough patches that determines the longevity of those relationships. If the relationship crumbles after just one fight or one argument then it’s questionably whether this relationship was real from the very start. In the story Under the Radar written by Richard Ford a married couple hit a rough patch. This rough patch not only destroys their relationship but leads to their inevitable deaths. In my interpretation of this story I came to the conclusion that both people in the relationship…

The novel Shatter Me written by Tahereh Mafi is foremost one of the best books that I have ever read in my existence. This amazing novel was really unpredictable as everything happened like a rollercoaster ride. However, it did have some drops throughout the book that I did not find amusing. The three main things that I personally adored about this novel was the idea, characters, and writing style. I really liked the idea of this novel as it was really eventful.…

“Girl, Interrupted” by Susanna Kaysen is based on a true story about the author, who spent time at a mental institution called McLean Hospital in the late 1960’s. Throughout the book the author writes about her experiences at the hospital and the people she encountered while she was there. While Susanna Kaysen encountered many people at McLean, none played a major role in the conflict that arises in the book, which is Susanna being sent to the institution and having to face her mental illness. Although it can be argued that the doctor who sent Susanna to McLean is the antagonist, it is clear that Susanna is both the antagonist and protagonist, since her biggest problem is dealing with being sent to a mental institution, her mental illness,…

Sexy By Jhumpa Lahiri Usually when I’m looking for something new to read I go off of titles, I don’t read the reviews, I don’t read the blurb on the back, if the title catches my eye then I will more than likely pick it up and see what goes from there. So one day during my LIT 224 class I was going through the contents of our book and one story caught my eye, Sexy by Jhumpa Lahiri, I turned to the page the story started on and began to read. The story wasted no time getting someplace interesting, in the first page alone our heroine, who is named Miranda hears the story of a “wife’s worst nightmare”. She listens as one of her coworkers tells how her cousin’s husband had left her, he had found a new woman while flying back from a business meeting…
