Springdale General Attitude Survey
Surveys are conducted to collect data for companies and corporations. This data can then be analyzed to understand how it ranks with the customers that shop in its stores. They are also conducted to help find the pros and cons that shoppers endure while shopping. In fact, Economics & Statistics Administration (2015) stated that “about 3.5 million households are sampled every year for the American Community Survey, and it takes respondents a total of about 2.4 million hours per year to answer the survey” (para. 2). What information might a survey collect? A good place to start is understanding the consumer’s attitude towards his or her shopping experience. Another expansion on this could be the age of the consumer

In fact, Anderson, Sweeney, Williams, Camm, and Cochrane (2012) stated that “nonexperimental, or observational, statistical studies make no attempt to control the variables of interest. A survey is perhaps the most common type of observational study” (p. 13). This survey also asked the participants if they were male or female and whether or not he or she was married at the time. The major shopping areas in the community of Springdale include the Springdale Mall, West Mall, and the downtown area on Main Street. Do male or females have the same attitude towards the shopping centers? Did the marital status of the respondent have any bearing on the attitude towards the shopping …show more content…
The majority of the respondents were single or not married with 84 total. One interesting fact was, the unmarried shoppers were nearly equally satisfied at the Springfield Mall and Downtown. It would be interesting to know the sort of goods that are sold at these two places to see if they had goods that were catered to singles as in a collage town.

The Margin of Error Table 6 below depicts managements request for the size of sample required to obtain a 95% confidence with a margin of error of 0.05. Jaggia and Kelly (2014) stated that a confidence interval is generally associated with a margin of error that accounts for the variability of the estimator and the desired level of the interval” (p. 245). As the table shows, the sample size will need to be quite large to contain such a large number of the data. Springfield Mall will need to have the largest sample with 2416 followed by the West mall and Downtown, which need 2085 and 2028

With the U.S. having the highest incarceration rates in the world, Americans are slowly inching towards realizing the effects of this and beginning to think about prison reform. Before any solid, concrete change is to occur, we need to be able to look at the different aspects of the criminal justice system which affects every single person in this country. We must be able to look at what leads up to someone being incarcerated (early life, family ties, social position), the legal proceedings and interactions with law enforcement. We need to be able to look at how people are being sentenced, and what “correctional” really means when it comes to using the term “correctional facilities”. We also need to look at why we have such high recidivism…

The original utopia, devised by distinguished humanist Thomas More in his eponymous novel — Utopia (1516), was the faultless product of a superior race. The term itself is the coalescence of two Ancient Greek expressions evoking simultaneously ‘no place’ and ‘good place’, a characteristically classical play on paradoxical concepts. Since its creation, utopian literature have continually critiqued the defects of contemporaneous societies through the modelling of alternatives far superior in moral standards and practical benefits. Later works in the genre such as Pleasantville (1998) created by Gary Ross, however, captures the impossibility of such perfection due to humanity’s natural aversion to moral homogeneity. While both texts serve to highlight…

At Pawsitively Purrfect, Busciacco has seen that while the older generations respond more to the traditional forms of advertising, such as a shelf flier, millennials are more attune to the messages spread on the store’s social media. “The millennials are definitely the ones that are responding to the social media. They’re the ones that are seeing something advertised on Facebook, seeing your Instagram account, checking out the new products that way,” Busciacco said. “The baby boomers, I think, just come into the store. Nonprobability Sampling

Throughout scientific studies, researchers utilize sampling and conduct research that identifies probability and nonprobability, reliability, and validity of research. Also, scientists utilize telephone surveys, online surveys, focus groups, and surveys via websites when collecting data for research and need to be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Sampling is the process of selecting a small part of a population for inspection and utilizing that smaller part of information to represent a larger population. It may be impossible for scientists to determine the characteristics of a vast population; therefore, the purpose and fundaments of sampling is to help scientists examine the characteristics of a larger population in a smaller way. Because information is taken from cautiously drawn samples within a smaller group, another fundament of sampling is receiving results that are more accurate than they would be from a larger group (Monette, Sullivan, & DeJong, 2011, p.135).…
