However, I veer the pistol away from his head, shooting nothing but the road behind him as I begin to help him up, “Why are you doing this? just end me” he says while coughing blood, “I’ve never really had a friend you see Atticus, my life has always been boring before you came into it, I’m not just gonna kill you, Don’t get me wrong I wanted to. But maybe we could go about this another way” I reply.

I’ve never seen someone so stunned as he was that night, I told him I wanted to be friends but truth be told I just didn’t have the guts to kill him, I couldn’t imagine myself killing a man, I wasn’t powerful enough.

I spend all week next to his bed side tending to his injuries, we couldn’t go to the hospital or they’d ask to many questions.

Atticus Finch used ethos, pathos, logos, anaphoras, and rhetorical questions in his closing argument to make the jury think about their opinion based on the evidence. He uses these to persuade the jury to believe that Tom was in fact innocent. He appealed to the jury's sense of reason, logic, emotions, and the overall appeal of the speaker or writer himself. He makes the jury think about the facts, and think about the credibility of Bob and Mayella side of the story. Even though the facts show that Tom Robinson is innocent the jury still found him guilty.…

Atticus Finch, the respectable darling from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, may have been a great person and an excellent lawyer, but he was an awful parent to his children. In this coming-of-age story, taking place in Maycomb, Alabama during the 1930’s, a young girl named Scout learned many life-altering lessons from her father, Atticus. However, while trying to form a strong bond with Scout and his son, Jem, Atticus neglected his other duties as a parent. Atticus failed at these parental duties because he ignored the need to shelter the kids from certain sights and situations, he didn’t punish the kids for disobeying him, and he did not make sure they were safe at all times.…

As time progressed and we learned more about colloquial language and little things I could change in my essays to further advance and improve my writing. Now, I feel even more confident about my writing and know that all of these little changes I can make in my writing create a better flow of ideas and a higher level of formality. I feel that throughout this semester I have been greatly challenged as a writer and have advanced the most that I ever have in writing within such a short period of time. I have put in a lot time and effort into this class in order to create…
